This place is located in the area of lower Galilee and it nearly about 20minutes from the Nazareth, an ancient village of Galilee. Kfar Kedem offers their visitors an opportunity to experience the life of ancient age, 2000 years ago in Israel. It is more like involving in the daily life of biblical times and performing the activities like them. Here you will be able to hear some prophets’ words while pressing the olive for oil, threshing the grains or taking part in milk production, bread making or wool making just like the old times. To give their guests a real like experience, the Kfar Kedem offers the authentic clothes of that period to their guests while they are performing the activities. In modern term, we can call it a theme park.

History

Kfar Kedem is located on the Route 77 of Israel just beside the Hamovil intersection. In the year of 1992, this place was founded first in Menachem Goldberg’s Hoshaya settlement. This place includes nearly 4 acres of native ancient Israeli trees and vegetation. It reconstructs the ancient Jewish life during the period of Mishnah of Galilee. Kfar Kedem is situated just next to the Tzippri, the home of the Sanhedrin. Kfar Kedemhas was opened for the public in the year 1992 and the journey begins here after a short lecture.

Philosophy

Kfar Kedem is a large community of the Orthodox Jewish families and they are committed to give you a holistic experience by using your senses that the real process to production of the household staples like wool, milk, bread etc and connecting those experiences with the spirit and values of the ancient age and another old community Mishnah, who are still very much a part of the Israeli communities. The Kfar Kedemfollows a deep motto to provide you an enriched spiritual and historical context by their well experienced knowledgeable and professional guides. Another philosophy of the Kfar Kedem is to provide their guests a warm hospitality and delicious experience of rustic food in the shepherd’s tent.

Activities

This Kfar Kedem can organize special activity or event for maximum 250 guests at a time.

There you can take a part of the activities like wheat to bread, where you can see and learn how the bread made from the wheat.

Another activity is the Greener Pastures, where you can learn to make cheese from milk, making the clothes from wool etc.

Olive press or making olive oil from the olives is another process that you can learn here.

    How did the ancients transmit their messages without a smartphone or email? Find out and do it yourself! This is a unique experience! before leaving Kfar Kedem, you will receive a pigeon in a box with a special note, so it might be a surprise for the others. When you get to the next stop - you launch it with a note you wrote, and when it arrives, we scan the note and send it back to you. A guide fee of NIS 390 applies for groups of less than 10 people.
