Goats with the Wind farm

If you are looking for a peaceful family outing where you will get the refreshing healthy foods at the lap of nature, then the Goats with the wind can be the right choice for you. This is an organic goat farm that situated at the lap of Mount Shabi, a place in Western Galilee. This is little but open dairy farm that surrounded by the hills. Producing delicious organic cheese from goat milk is the specialty of the place. There is also a restaurant to enjoy the organic food and local tongue tantalizing wine. This restaurant is open to the visitors for 365 days.

History

This is actually an eco-friendly farm that situated in the small hills of Har Hashabi. The owners of the farm are Dalia and Ammon, a couple from Israel. They are operating the farm for many years with their volunteers. ‘Goats with the Wind’ is a popular farm of Israel that rises up by the small stones of Galilee. Most of the houses of the place are made of the small stones that handpicked by the owners. There is a Yurt, where the owners and their family lives and the goats stay in the lean-to type sheds. Above the specific areas for the goats, there are the rooms for the volunteers. Most of the houses and walls are made of old stones that give the place an organic and artistic feel. You can also visit the Tel Yodfat from there and ca read the placards such as the Masada, which was a site of the Roman siege. It was sacked during the very first century CE.

Philosophy

This farm operated by the solar system and its offer a complete eco-friendly environment for the travelers and the volunteers both. The specialty of the farm is, it boats a diversity of the volunteers including the poets, monks, ping pong champions, Olympic poets etc. Dalia and Ammon maintain similar work opportunities and respect for all the volunteers, they perform the tasks like gardening, cleaning, milking the farm’s goats, feeding all the animals even the construction or decoration work together. According to the owners, hard work is the only requirement here to work as a volunteer, no other skills needed.

This place is very close to nature and ideal to spend a day far from the busy city life. The restaurant is located under the green carob trees. One can enjoy the excitement of cheese making process in the open aired kitchen with the owners. Just go for a walk through the flower-lined road or enjoy your meal in a finely decorated dining area to experience a heavenly journey.
