Ein Hod Artist village is on the road to the Haifa in Israel. This picturesque village on the hill is known as the artist’s village that located at the foot of the Mount Carmel. History
This is an ancient village of Israel that founded in 1953. It was situated by Marcel Janco, a Dada artist, and other artists groups. Ein Hod is one and the only village of Israel, and very rare in the world too. 150 artists from different genres and their families live in this village. Prior to Arab-Israel war of 1948, it was one of the sites of the Arab village of the Ein Hawd. During the deadly war, most of the Arab people were expelled. But some people remained in the same area and formed their own small village. They failed to create a moshav but formed an artist colony.
Philosophy
This is now community settlement that runs by the elected team of the administrative committee. Many painters, musicians, sculptors liver there and maintain some high-quality galleries and studios that open to the public every day. They also preserve some ancient houses. The mosque of the village was turned into a café or restaurant cum bar.
Activities
This is one of the right places to see some art galleries and studios. Here you will find 14 art workshops to participate. For the artist and art lovers, this village and the artists arrange some art seminars also. The Gertrude Krause house of the village sponsors music concerts and the guest lectures. During the summertime, they arrange some entertainment programs in their Roman style amphitheater outdoor setup.
